1 – Tell Your Story
We all know to keep our captions and web content short and sweet for our audience. However, your business or products may have a great story behind them that your audience isn’t aware of. How did your business come to be? What inspired you to create or sell the products you do? How did you get involved in this industry? Take some time to share sentimental aspects of your story with your followers.
2 – Introduce Your Team
While it may seem worthwhile to make it seem like your account is a one-man (or one-woman) show, users enjoy seeing the team that makes the account possible. Consider introducing your social media manager, employees at your company, or anyone else who contributes to the business behind your account. If your business employs lots of people, you can feature employees who believe in the company and are excited to work there. If you’re only a few people, you can share more intimate details about the people on your team.
3 – Day in the Life
Whether your account is a huge company or you’re an individual influencer, why not share a typical day with your followers? This gives you the opportunity to show your audience the behind-the-scenes of your business, whether that means giving them a glimpse of a staff meeting or showing your kids eating breakfast in the morning. Day in the Life posts are a great way to remind your audience that you are human, and your work matters.
4 – Introduce a Customer
Testimonials and customer reviews are powerful, and the more your audience sees the difference your products have made, the more likely they are to make a purchase. The great thing about Instagram is that you can share people’s stories outside of a text-only website testimonial. Consider inviting some of your customers to share a photo of themselves with a story of how your product has changed their lives. You can even make a contest out of featuring customers or clients – after all, their account will likely gain followers from the feature as well!
5 – New Releases or Teasers
Give your followers something to look forward to! If you’ve got something coming soon, let your audience know that something exciting is coming. This may be a product release, a sale, or a collaboration with a business or influencer. Businesses have a lot of engagement success with teasers, so if you’re counting down to something, let your audience get in on the excitement as well.
